Brick progress has been made this past week, even though you cannot see the progress.  The fellows have been working on the north side of the church – getting the nave wall brick laid.  You can also see some of the pre cast concrete that was put in place on the lower north and part of the east walls.  Some outside scaffolding has been put up over the sanctuary roof line, this is done so if the weather turns warm enough for a few days, the brick layers will get up there and lay some of that brick wall.  Dan, Tim and fellow workers have finished sheet rocking the nave ceiling, clerestory alcove, arches, and upper nave walls.  These areas are now being taped and mudded in prep for the sheet rock to be sprayed with plaster.  The east bell tower wall, second floor – south side mechanical room, and upper stairwell walls have all been framed.  The medal doors in those areas have also been put in place.  Most of the conduit (pipe that the electric wires run through) has been installed on the first floor areas and this past week they have pulled many of the wires through this conduit.  Bryant Heating has continued putting in the heat/air runs on the first floor – almost done.  It is starting to be a real challenge for them to get these runs in the ceiling.  It is unbelievable how much is put up in the ceilings – no room for crawling around up there.  Kingery has started chiseling out the concrete block wall section on the second floor that will be the entrance way to go from the old building to the new choir loft area.  All the brick (except for the north side lower wall) has been cleaned during the warmer weather we’ve had, so now you can see what it really looks like.

Thanks to those who have brought cookies for the workers.
