Last week I reported the steps were poured but due to rain that pour was cancelled, though we did manage to get some concrete laid on some of the steps and three of the landings this week.  Steel workers have been slowed down with the rain and wind.  You don’t want to weld in the rain, nor do you want to be walking on the slippery steel decking.  Even with these weather issues the steel workers managed to set the I beams (from the main trusses to the north nave concrete block wall) and also got some welding done along with screwing down much of the roof decking.  Some steel decking on the south side of the main trusses has been added.  On Monday the 8th the roof structure for the bell tower was raised and put in place.  Metal studs have also been erected on the upper south area of the social hall and on the second floor, west side of the mechanical room.  Masonry workers have finished the north wall of the nave and are now working on the north transept area.  Bryant Heating has done some duck work in the basement and placed the furnace units on metal stands.  Eric from ABC Electric has been placing more conduits in the block walls and other places, as the walls are built.

Answer to last week’s question --  Around five cubic yards of grout is poured into the five to six block high wall – that’s a lot of grout when pouring it by the bucket!

The workers want to thank all of you that have made and brought cookies – they truly enjoy them and look forward to getting them for their morning break.  We have good workers and happy workers!!
