What a wonderful week – lots of sunshine and dry weather – perfect formula for getting outside work done.  Concrete was poured on Wednesday for the second floor choir loft and hallways.  Trusses over the upper north hallway have been put in place.  The decking on the two high roof sections has been completely screwed down.  Roof decking has been placed over the portico and social hall area, what a different look it has now.  The north side block wall has been completed.   If you stand on the south side of Morrill Ave you may be able to see where bridging was put in to connect the lower roof line with the Narthex roof line – to have a smooth transition between the two roofs.  Joists have also been installed between the bell tower and the Narthex area.  Bryant Heating has been busy putting in the duck work in the basement.  Kingery has put in place the wood fascia on the south side of the church – where the roof meets the concrete block.

This week’s question: What is the iron beam (with the short legs attached to it) called that is located on the east and west gable ends of the upper roof structure?
