Thank the good Lord it only rained a little this week.  The masonry workers finished the east wall, except for a ten foot section (which will be used for lifts and other vehicles to get through to the nave area).  They have also started working on the gable end by choir loft, prepping for laying the brick. Take a look at the front of the new church and see all the metal studs that have been put in place.  Some have been covered with gypsum board.  You can also see where the Rose window will be placed and the front entrance opening.  The metal decking over the social hall is complete and some of the fascia has been put on the west edge.  This fascia will need to be built up so when the insulation and plywood are put on the metal decking, the connecting edge will be one smooth line for the shingles to be laid upon.  Fascia work has also been done on the south side of the church above the clerestory.  If you look at the south side clerestory area, you will see where they have put in the metal stud framing for the windows.  Down in the basement a lot more duck work has been completed by Bryant Heating.   The bell tower floors have also been laid this week.  Be sure and check out the pictures at stpatricklincoln.com – click by “Raising A Spiritual Home”  and then click “Photos”.  I try to put new ones up every weekend.

Last week’s question: What is the iron beam (with the short legs attached to it) called that is located on the east and west gable ends of the upper roof structure?  Answer = Parapet

Our stock pile of cookies has been used up, so if anyone feels like baking cookies, the workers sure do appreciate them.  We have about twenty workers a day on site.  Thanks to all who have brought cookies in the past.
