C-AS SEP2016 Meeting Minutes

St. Patrick's Altar Society

September 2016 Meeting Minutes                                        Attendance: 23 members

St. Patrick's Altar Society September meeting opened with a prayer. The minutes from the August meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer's reports for August was approved.

Fr. Schweiger encouraged all the ladies to renew and refresh their relationship with the Lord, and the Parish Mission in early October would be an excellent opportunity to do just that.

The only Commission Report was from Eileen W. stating that LDCW Sunday was coming up and that a Mass would be said for all the Altar Society members. Eileen W. also mentioned the need for a couple more Church Cleaning Leaders.

7063 Best choice labels have been submitted, which is about $210. The celebration for St. Patrick School's 100th Anniversary was a huge success. Father believes that over 400 people attended. Also, in celebration of our Spiritual Home's one year anniversary, we had the Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit on display. The exhibit was well received.

Melissa mentioned that the parish still needs 4 to 5 people to be Wedding Coordinators / Hosts to assist the bride and her family during weddings at the church and asked everyone to prayerfully consider volunteering. The committee has agreed on the rental fees, rules, cleaning, etc... for the use of the Finigan Hall, gym and kitchen.

Father informed the ladies that the restoration of the 3 statues is more than he originally communicated. The estimate is now $1000 each for Mary and Joseph. He did not know the estimate to restore the Risen Jesus statue. Father mentioned that there is a possibility of a couple of parishioners that are artists doing the restoration, but he had not approached anyone yet. And he could not confirm if they were willing, or able, to do this type of work. Father agreed to ask the local priests for recommendations for the restoration work and to report back to the Society next month.
